What is an EasyChute?

EasyChute is a lightweight construction trash chute made from woven, coated poly fabric. You hang it from a window, roof edge or scaffold and drop debris straight into the dumpster below instead of carrying it down stairs. Sections come in 10, 25 and 50 ft lengths and connect to reach any height.

How much does an EasyChute cost?

The 10 ft lite-duty section is $99, the 10 ft heavy-duty section is $149, the 25 ft section is $277 and the 50 ft section is $596. Prices are fixed and shipping is free — you pay what you see in the cart.

How many sections do I need?

Measure from where the debris goes in (the window sill, roof edge or scaffold deck) down to the top of the dumpster. Each connection overlaps 1.5 ft, so every extra section adds its length minus 1.5 ft. As a rule of thumb, a 10 ft section covers about one story, the 25 ft section about two and a half and the 50 ft section about five.

How do I hang an EasyChute?

Each section has four woven connection loops at the top and four at the bottom — two in front, two in back. Clip the top loops to a secure anchor with carabiners or quick-connects, clip the next section's top loops to the bottom loops of the one above, and let the bottom hang into the dumpster. Middle shortening straps let you take up slack for an exact fit. No outriggers, frames or hoists are needed.

Can I use a trash can as a hopper?

Yes. Cut the bottom out of a standard 32-gallon commercial trash can and seat it in the top of the chute. It makes a wide, sturdy mouth that wheelbarrows and buckets can tip straight into.

What kind of debris can go down the chute?

EasyChute is built for common construction and renovation debris — drywall, plaster and lath, roofing shingles, wood scraps, insulation and similar material. Bag fine dust, and keep oversized or very heavy pieces like long beams and cast-iron fixtures off the chute.

Is EasyChute OSHA compliant?

EasyChute meets or exceeds applicable OSHA regulations. OSHA's construction standard (29 CFR 1926.252) requires an enclosed chute whenever material is dropped more than 20 feet outside a building's exterior walls — exactly the job an EasyChute does.

Where do you ship, and how much is shipping?

We ship EasyChute sections to job sites anywhere in the United States, and shipping is free on every order. Call 855-90-CHUTE (855-902-4883) if you need overnight shipping or want to confirm a delivery date.

Can I reuse an EasyChute?

Yes — that's the point. The woven, tear-resistant poly fabric is made for job-site use, and a 10 ft section folds small enough to fit in a drawer, so crews keep a chute on the truck and use it job after job.

Who makes EasyChute?

EasyChute was invented in Massachusetts by remodeling contractor Tim Hogan and Leo Guarente, the owner behind Junkster Bag and Junk Depot. They tested prototype after prototype on real job sites before the chute went on sale.
